Sports is in the air with olympics on the horizon, I’m not as fortunate as to be able to shoot the olympics just yet buuut today i spent the day at the Jamaica national stadium shooting track and field events. It was overcast thank God so I didn’t have to worry about being slow cooked like when i was there the day before.
I’m not that huge of a sports fan but I’ve gotta admit there were two excellent races ran today. The most exciting races were actually from the under 9 category a photo of two should be in tomorrows paper from those particular races i’m sure.
On leaving i saw a pretty cool photo that would make an excellent landscape shot but i only had my 70-200 on me as i was shooting races. a 12-24 would have sold that photo. did something with my cell though..
On getting to the company car I drove up (middle car) i kinda found it cool that all the media cars were parked at the same spot. No observer though.. guess they were too busy with other things to show up hehe.
This is from a wedding We Photographed about one week later from the last BTS video. enjoy as Giovanni “@997000” almost takes flight while holding an umbrella on the roof of @jamaicapegasus lol.
So what was kinda cool in all of this is I ended up saving 70 dollars on the purchase Got the camera brand new from adorama for $1130 :D order processed and just waiting to be shipped. So all’s well that ends well like I said earlier i guess. now its on to the next ones.

Need one of the two before my next wedding which is November the 27th and ideally i need a friend to take it in so i gotta move quickly on that one.
Off camera lighting… It’s the rage now a days. Strobist this strobist that, it’s almost kinda cliche now a days bout te truth is it’s a tool, that you can use to your advantage. For the time of doing off camera lighting I’ve been using nikon speedlights a couple of SB 28’s and a SB 900. But after using a actual studio ac strobe a couple days ago I’ve decoded to invest in a 300 watt second mettle strobe with power pack and a 54” softlighter or the Paul C. Buff PLM. Or maybe even the westcott Apollo 50” softbox. I may have to add a boom arm o the mix with some counter weights for those days when there’s no assistant.
I hot an epic idea the problem is I don’t think I can bring it to fruition just yet. I need a model who has experience swimming, who’s at least 5”4 tall and 120-130/5 lbs in weight. Until I find her I can’t do this concept. So I need. Backup idea cause ibdef wanna shoot this sunday.
